As a library professional, I have had the opportunity to pursue continued training and education in the field of librarianship. Some of the highlights of these opportunities include:

 

• Selection into the 2013 Library Leadership Institute hosted by the Mississippi Library Commission

  • This immersive, in-residence leadership training institute is funded by a Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program Grant and looks to recognize and train the next generation of library leaders in the state of Mississippi.

• Professional workshops hosted through the Mississippi Library Commission

  • New Director Training

  • LSTA Grant Writing

• ​Professional technology training through Information Technology Services in Jackson, MS

  • Network+ training seminar - a one week technology training designed to help students pass the COMPTIA Network+ Certification

• ​Mississippi Library Association Sub-Committees

  • I have served or currently serve on several committees for the Mississippi Library Association including:

    • Legislative Committee

    • Web Committee

    • Long Range Planning Committee

    • Scholarship Committee
